Sometimes I really liked this book and admired the creativity. People describe it as a fever dream but I didn’t feel that way. I thought the first three chapters were phenomenal. But the Pontius Pilate flash backs started to get a little old.
The first book I found a little hard to follow at points with so many new characters and sometimes given different names or similar names to other characters. There was a bit of a struggle to keep them all straight.
Book two is where it picked up for me. I loved the Satans Ball. I do feel at the end it dragged a bit but overall a good book!

You can't really describe the world of this book, you just have to read it for yourself. Political, sexy, dark, morbid, it completely creates a world of chaos around you and makes you think about how the world and governments operate today and what morals we have and/or are lacking. Trippy and the only book of its kind I have ever read. I have re-read it three times now.

I liked it a lot. Obviously would have hit harder if I knew more about the USSR in the 30s/40s but I got the gist of what Bulgakov was satirizing, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Started slow got really good especially the beginning of book 2 then Kinda filtered out for the end. Worth the read.
I am never going to finish this book. I chose it because it was on Daniel Radcliffe's READ poster, and I really enjoyed it at first. Then I got confused a bit, and I put it down for a while. You know how you need your book to be relaxing sometimes? So, I need to pick it back up and try again. In the meantime...this ridiculous review.
