Good character development, great ending. Deeper than most of her books I feel.
medium-paced

I think this book in the series is among my favorites.

Great thriller about a PI's case that took a turn. The ending was far from expected.

Felt for Kinsey in this one. She seems to be coming to terms with her family now.

Generally disappointing. Extremely slow to get to any action. It took so long for the "mystery" to get going that I almost gave up completely. And then I found it unsurprising. Only for those really dedicated to the concept of reading the entire series.

You can never go wrong with a Kinsey Millhone novel.
adventurous lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

Kinsey’s hired to find a man, named Guy, whose father has died so his family can give him his share of the inheritance. He was a teenage fuck up abut is now a Christian and a good guy. He returns home to stay with his 3 brothers and is murdered. There’s evidence the older brother killed him and he’s jailed. Kinsey continues to look into things because she liked Guy. Everyone assumed he disappeared after swindling a woman out of some expensive collector’s items and running out on her pregnant daughter. He actually left before any of that. The baby’s daddy was unknown, and Guy’s brothers stole the collectors items worth millions. The pregnant girl died. Her sister was using an alias and working as the nurse/housekeeper for the man who had died. She killed Guy as revenge and framed his brothers. She is killed crossing the street and it’s unclear if she did it on killer herself on purpose or not.
