Like the last book, there is plenty that you can skim and not lose the thread. However, the parts worth reading every word is with Rand, which matters the most. He always was the hero of this story, and that was respected in this final novel. It is a flawed novel, but that part was done right.

Wow. That book was alot. Read it in less then a week and it felt like I was fighting the last battle. By far the most intense wot book and while I didn’t move every single part this was a monumental task and one that realistically was done pretty much as good as possible. It felt like everyone got their ark resolved, to differing degrees of satisfaction but resolved none the less. Except my girl egwayne. Ok like yes her death was great, like can’t deny that if she’s going to go out she went out well but why did they take her out? Everyone else got to live, RAND GOT TO LIVE, the one we have been told the whole time is going to die and yet the reformer who’s whole ark was about improving institutions had to die? Like she told Tuon she planned to live centuries and everyone kept saying how she was going to be the greatest white tower leader ever and then she just kind of dies in a cool but overall meaningless scene. Just felt like a shitty way to end the character that is essentially your second main character by the end of the series.

The Rand and egwayne conflict was also kind of dumb although I didn’t hate it as much as some people do. I can’t give this titan of a book anything less then 5 stars and it wouldn’t be fair to say I am disappointed as there was so much good in this book but I can’t help thin about all the little things I would change. Like the final battle should have taken place at shayol ghul. Anyways I think I just need to sit with it and accept it and maybe reread before this book sits right with me but I still loved it.
