Loved this one just a much as the first. Wonderful conclusion, but I do find myself really wishing there was more to come for these books!

The first book in this duology was such a fun time, but book two really takes everything to the next level. The mythology is so interesting and complex, and the twists are  unexpected and exciting and had me rethinking everything I thought I knew. The pacing, while still as action-packed and adventurous as book one, slows down a bit to really develop every scene and character in a way that only served to make the book even more immersive. The main characters are some of the most emotionally mature I’ve ever read in romantasy, and even though they definitely aren’t perfect and their relationship faces challenges, the way they navigate hardships and overcome loss is just so beautiful and powerful. Freya is one of my all time favorite FMC’s and even when she stumbled I was still rooting for her the entire way. The dual POVs added in this book also give us a whole new perspective on the characters. The worldbuilding also expanded so much from the groundwork laid in book one, from the locations we visit to the lore we discover, and every page had me wanting more. I can confidently say that this will be one of my top reads of 2025.

Thankfully I liked this one so much more than book 1! It took me a little bit to get into this because I found that I had forgotten a good amount from the previous book, but once I got past that, this became much more gripping.

The story was much more compelling than the first book and I also enjoyed the characters more. I wasn’t originally convinced that I would read this at all but Libby had a “skip the line” copy come available so I decided to grab it on a whim and I’m glad that I did!

I enjoyed the story. The twists were great! I did struggle a bit with the language (similarly to the first book), but if I look past that, the storyline was great and the epilogue gave me all the closure I needed.

This was a really strong conclusion to a great series. I felt like it was so fast paced, the plot was constantly plowing forward. No complaints!
