An okay read with solid tension. It's not my usual style though I do like the author. Recommendable for people who like western-esque, borderland, lawless/wild wild west type narratives.

This is a hard book to follow. No quotation marks and it can be hard to follow who is talking. That said, it is both a gripping story on the surface but is more a commentary on the lack of morality and respect in our world and how that leads to inevitable demise, I think. I only read this now, at my present age, and I think if I had when I was younger, I would have brought something else to it. I am not sure I agree with the premise, which seems to be hopelessness - but when you think about the evil in this world: school shootings (just yesterday, again), a CEO murdered and the world rejoicing for his killer -- well, maybe there is something to this.
