I think I liked this? It was a bit all over the place - the sheriff (his letters & also storyline), Moss, Chirugh. And on brand with the book’s theme it didn’t have the ended you were rooting for the entire book. But it was an interesting read & kept you hoping till the end.

Very violent, very stressful, and half the time I was having to re-read segments because I’d missed something important without realising. but all the same this is a successful thriller with a truly evil and scary villain. just a bit too stressful for me. also the ending felt very sudden.
p.s. why do some authors refuse to use speech marks?? it makes the reading experience so much more confusing.
