This book is very YA. The conflict isn't extreme but feels like it for the characters. It has so much drama and is unfortunately realistic for high school. I personally didn't care for the relationship in the book and it didn't seem worth it to me. The friendship in the book between Lani and Erin in my opinion should have had the traumatic experience in the beginning of the story. It would have really set up the book for the will they won't they scenario.

No, the cover doesn't ruin the story. I thought It was going to be that way but it wassn't. Despite the fact she belives a lot in fate and signs, she is a really nice girl and I felt her emotions. It's not for everybody I know, but after I finished I knew that I loved it. The end was very plausible and Susane Colasanti has such an light, easy written, you read it so fast and you don't want to stop until you finish it.

This book is cute and has a deeper meaning than many young adult books. Some of the teen slang and language can get annoying, but the depth of the characters and the story outweigh those small negatives.
