It's very dramatic, but romantic and then problamatic.

Lani was a very annoying character I did not like the insta love between her and Jason. I didn’t find there romance believable or unique. I didn’t like her friendship with Erin it felt forced. Just not as enjoyable as I thought it would be.
I hated how attached she was because she wants to be with Jason after barely knowing him and how she went behind her friends back. The worst part was her justification for not telling erin. When everyone found out they were together erin bullied and which I felt was typical and childish. Lani ended up outing her gay best friend which adds more drama. High school, typical.. At the end everyone was happy.

Tenía buenas expectativas después de leer “Keep Holding on” (uno de mis libros favoritos en general) pero los personajes son personajes aburridos y con los que no puedes conectar, no sentí la “química” que se supone que sienten, mejoró un poco al final, pero meh.

I wanted to like this book, but I just couldn’t relate to Lani at all. I don’t care if you’re in love with this “perfect guy”—no guy is worth lying to your best friend. If he’s perfectly fine with sneaking around then frankly you should just kick him to the curb. I could not see Lani’s attraction to Jason because coincidences don’t necessarily mean you’re soul mates. I’ve met plenty of guys who I had things in common with and then they either turned out to be just friends or total jerks.

Jason never should have dated Erin if he was really interested in Lani. Stupid move, dude. I spent most of the book wanting to call up Erin to bash Lani and Jason. I wouldn’t have taken it to the extreme like Erin chose to do, but we could have “drawn horns and blacked out her tooth with a marker” (bonus points if you recognize those lyrics) on a picture of Lani and then used it for dart practice.

Even though I didn’t like the main character, I will say that this was a well-written book and I hope to check out other titles by Susane Colasanti. The subject matter just didn’t agree with me and I hated how Lani had no hesitations about dating Jason even though Erin was still pissed off about the break-up.

I was engrossed in this book if I didn't have over a hundred books I want to read I would read it again.

Excellent book. I gave this author a second chance after reading one of her other books that was a pretty miserable experience for me. With this one she more than redeemed herself. I am hoping that the other one was a fluke.

The characters in this book were full bodied, not shallow. They were average. Human.

I feel this is an author whose writing style is more suitable for middle school. Even high school aged kids would probably be bored. Even though I am out of high school, I can still enjoy a good YA book. I picked this particular book up at the library because I liked the idea of the story. However, when I began reading I thought it sounded familiar, I then realized I had read it before! I do not feel these books are memorable and are very predictable. if you are older than middle school, you probably will loose interest quickly.
