I liked it better than Windwitch, but still less than Truthwitch. I like how even though this is a novella that takes place before the series, it still adds valuable world building and big-picture stuff with the overarching plot of the series. I think it's a necessary novella.
I flew through this. This is a beautifully presented novella which is written in a diary type format and its filled with lovely illustrations.
I liked getting to know Ryber and Kullen better and this book certainly gives some insight into their relationship.
What I really enjoyed about this novella is the wonderful layer of detail that Ms. Dennard has added to the lore and history of the Witchlands. It makes me love the world building of this series even more.

This might be the book I enjoyed the most from the Witchlands series. I really enjoyed this book! I thought it was a lovely experience using the journal viewpoint to tell this story and to have illustrations be a part of the story. Adding the random information in the past helped to showcase the information that Susan Dennard hints will be important. I actually have a bunch of unanswered questions that I want to learn more about as I continue with this series.

This series is, without a doubt, one of my new favorites and Susan Dennard has made it to my list of favorite authors.
Sooo, I did a thing, I finished this book in one day... Good job if I say so myself.
Proper review coming soon. I'll first have to get my thoughts straight or I'll just be writing asdfghjkl.

There was a point to this, I presume. I feel like you get what was promised out of it... Just probably not how you thought you would get it. And there were some parts that were just, um, weird. Even for this book series.
