Was good but not great. The voices were not it for me, especially Miles. I feel like I might have liked it more if I had read it rather than listened to it. Also felt like there could have been more that happened - some of the plot fell a little flat. Some of her daddy issues but close to home- not letting herself be hopeful and have her own life. Liked the library stuff - reminded me of my time at the ERC.

How is it that I find myself relating to most, if not all of Emily Henry’s characters? While the peculiar predicament Daphne and Miles had gone through was surprisingly funny (in a morbid way), their responses and thought processes allowed a lot of introspection in my own way of thought. Overall really really loved this (can’t decide between this vs Book Lovers for now), it definitely adopts a more dry sarcastic approach when dealing with angst which I enjoy a lot. Now that I’ve finished all 5 books in 4 days it’s time to find another series to hyperfixate on.

Emily Henry will always have me giggling, twisting my hair, and kicking my feet.

Read this in one day. I just love a little beach read and this is full of Midwest summer vibes and silly little book references (shoutout station 11 and Elin hilderbrandt, but I will not stand for the frank herbert slander).

A fun story, haha, with tough but real family relationship dynamics, and a silly little fake dating romance.
