I was so excited when I saw that Kenzie was going to be paired with Nixon! Bella delivered spice, emotion, witty banter and loads of swoon in this book. Absolutely every page was just full of something good.

I loved loved loved Nixon Sinclair. He was a little bit quiet, a little bit growly and a whole lot of alpha male. Kenzie was an amazing match for him. She was smart, driven, sweet and just the right amount of insecure and timid. These two together were an absolute explosion! You could feel the chemistry, but also the friendship that really set these two apart from the rest of the group. This book was an excellent beginning to this new series and I can’t wait for more!

Tempting is book one in the new series Red Lips & White Lies. This has all the Kroydon Hills charm from the last series, but this is Nixon and Mackenzie's (Kenzie) story. I have been waiting for this book and it for sure has become a favorite of mine.
Kenzie has finished medical school and is an OB/GYN and has moved back home to start her career. Nixon is a professional hockey player and the two of them knew each other in the past, being family friends. When they reconnect, Nix pretends to be her boyfriend to keep a coworker of hers at bay. Nixon and Kenzie had a crush on each other but never said anything. The two come up with an arrangement where he'll help her with spicy lessons, but when lines start to blur what will happen?
This book had me so wrapped up in it that I couldn't put it down. I'm a fan of this author and this is my favorite of hers to date. The characters are well written, and the story is just so good. I absolutely love these two together and Nixon is the perfect MMC.

Longtime friends Nix and Mac start fake dating to fend off Mac’s boss, but soon realize their feelings are more real than they expected.
Though this book can be read as a standalone, the extended family dynamics were overwhelming and confusing, especially if you’re not familiar with the previous series.
The pacing felt rushed, with the story jumping from secrecy to marriage and pregnancy with little buildup. While the chemistry between Nix and Mac was enjoyable, the focus on their intrusive family overshadowed their relationship.
The large cast of characters and limited world-building made it hard to keep track of everyone, and the subplot with Dr. Dick, specifically around the end of the book, felt unnecessary.
Overall, it’s a decent, quick read with a fun Gossip Girl-style twist through the newspaper articles. However, if you haven’t read the earlier books in the series, I’d recommend starting there to fully appreciate this one.

I do not know how Bella tops herself with each book she writes, but she does it. I loved seeing Kenzie and Nixon story develop, nothing feels forced. Everyone makes mistakes and they own up too it in the book, I like how stuff isn’t just brushed under the rug. I did receive this as an ARC, but this is my honest review. Please give this author a chance, you won’t be disappointed.
