The Kroydon Hills world is one of my favorite places to visit, and this couple might just be my new favorite!❤️ Nixon’s protective streak came out right away, and the connection between them was obvious. He was the perfect blend of hot alpha with a heart of gold who was always mindful of exactly what Kenzie needed, both physically and emotionally.😍 Kenzie was #girlcrush material herself as she saved lives by day and kept up with Nixon at night. She could also keep the other guys in the group in check, when necessary. Just ask Leo…🤣🤣🤣 The banter in this book is unmatched with those hilarious text threads, and I’m so glad that Kenzie gets to participate in those gossipy ones now.😅 And when I say they had great chemistry, I mean they brought enough heat to start a wildfire!!🔥🔥 They are just perfect for each other! The authentic emotion, the family bonds, and the surprising plot twists kept my heart on the line and my eyes glued to the pages!! I just love all these characters so much!!🥰 I cannot wait to see what Bella has in store for the next one to fall!!

Nixon & Kenzie were everything!
This couple took me in a ride and I enjoyed every second of it.
Nixon was in love with Kenzie since they were teenagers, long before he knew what love was; but after a life changing tragedy, Kenzie puts all her focus into her career.
Kenzie and Nixon both think their careers are all they have time for so when they agree to a no strings attached “friends with benefits” arrangement they think they’ve found the perfect solution to their mutual attraction. He’ll teach her how to be intimate and keep the creepy doctor off her back, and he’ll get more from the woman he’s always wanted.
The thing is, those strings were attached way before either of them realized. The way their families were so connected made things complicated and hard to navigate, especially once their little arrangement quickly became so much more for the both of them.
The way that man loved and desired her would make any woman fall head over heels. Kenzie didn’t stand a chance. Their chemistry was electric. Nixon stood by her side and loved her through her healing and it was beautiful to be a part of that journey. This couple was special.

I’m sort of on the fence with Tempting. I didn’t realize this was a spin-off series. Even though it’s the first book in the series, I do think you should read the other series first. I was so confused about who everyone was and belonged to and how they were related. The author dove in assuming the reader knows everyone, which I don’t think should be the case for a first-in-series book. I think the author should assume the reader is new to the world. Aside from being thoroughly bewildered for most of the book, I thought the whole friend group was a bit incestuous. Especially how they discuss their sex lives with each other, even though they’re married or in relationships with others’ siblings. It was kind of weird and gross.
I did really love Mackenzie and Nixon together. The dirty talk was amazing. And one of my favorite things, possibly ever, happened in this book: the MMC, a “possessive” brother himself, called the FMC’s big brother out on his crap. I DETEST the overbearing big brother trope, especially once they start throwing out the “baby sister” garbage. It’s infantilizing and takes away the FMC’s agency and is a little vomity. But in THIS book, Nixon puts Easton in his place, and even tells him it’s sick to think that another man is taking away his sister because she doesn’t belong to her brother. I wanted to bow down to this queen, Ms. Matthews, for that. Seriously, bravo 👏 Usually, it has to be the sister or the brother’s wife putting poor big brother’s feelings at ease. I adore that the author had the MMC do it in this book. Honestly, I gave the book an extra star because of that.
I enjoyed this book, and I would read the next in the series, but I think I need to go back and read the other series first.

Nixon saves Kenzie from a guy who gives everyone the creeps and say he is her boyfriend to the guy which is how this all starts.. Nixon has always had a crush on Kenzie since they were kids but he really doesn’t make a move on it till she gets back from medical school. I loved that they had real ups and downs and how they had meddling family.. I love the needing at old plantation house you’ll have to read to find out why!!
The book sucked me in if real life had bothered I would have finished this book in one sitting !! Bella Matthew’s hit this book out of the park!!
