My name is Ray M. and I like reading mid books :3.
Did you see how cringe I was? That's the amount of cringe writing I had to sit through... I think I read that fuck ass sentence 3-4 times and it was 3-4 times too many. Like why? Who gaf if you do bad things? That's something my 4-year-old cousin would say df... and he's still a brat anyways....
ANYWHO let's not get off topic..... So we have Rory who apparently does bad things and is trying to save a forest because "go birds" and her father apparently lives there (that goes into spoiler territory so I won't go too much into detail). She marrys the local mafia man whos like a fat, pervy, gruncle and who dresses her up like a girl who's working at the local corner (listen I'm not gonna judge tho cuz this world runs on money and if I was that desperate I would lowkey do the same.). She's miserable and takes his heavy hand when all of a sudden here comes the true heir of the mafia
LE GASP. AND HE'S HWAT!!! *cue eyeroll*
Not like he's any better than the fat gruncle... and "most dangerous man" where? Sure I was told he was dangerous but like.... there were no actions to really support that.. I mean... I will say that he is a little impulsive but killing two men hardly makes him dangerous to me... but then again I'm comparing him to fantasy people who have literally colonized countries and have caused genocides so like.... two murders don't make a person dangerous to me...
Also the relationship lowkey felt forced to me... I didn't really feel the chemistry between the two especially since Angelo had a bad first impression of her which made me dislike him... like how do you go from thinking someone's a "slut" to thinking "hell ya wifey materiallllll".... like bro what? That makes no sense to me but whatever... Also smut felt boring so I don't care about it and won't speak on it. I'll just say it was uninspiring. That's it.
But overall... again this was just a mid story... Didn't hate it but I didn't love it... I do think I will continue the series just to see if the authors writing is any better in the 2nd book soo.... ig I'll just keep it going. :D

I somehow managed to completely gloss over the fact this was a mafia romance and went in blind — all I know was that I wanted something dark to sink my teeth into.
Entertaining enough, and probably would have gotten a higher rating if the mmc didn’t go from being in denial to professing love in a dozen or so pages.
The smut was very lukewarm. There was a lot of build up and when we finally get to their first time together, it’s a vague paragraph (maybe an exaggeration, but it was short and not descriptive)
Plus, I don’t know if people actually found the fact that Rory used bird puns for everything “cute and quirk” because I just found it ridiculous and stupid. It annoyed me so much I actually sighed in relief when she *finally* cursed that *one* time
