'He reigns a quiet terror; it hums off him like a sonic signal when he walks into a room, and it makes the air immediately shift.'

Sinners Anonymous is book one of a series and it had been on my TBR for a bit. Mafia romance with a forbidden element? Sign me up.
Rory is engaged to the much older head of Cosa Nostra, Alberto Visconti for reasons unknown. But people are used to seeing Alberto with young things on his arm. She is more than likely using him for his power and money, right? But there is so much more to Rory than meets the eye. And Angelo Visconti sees it.

This story started out slow, but I liked the way Sketcher built up a backstory for the MCs and dropped breadcrumb after breadcrumb until we understood the title name, the Viscontis, the reason for Rory's actions and the attraction she had to her fiance's nephew, Angelo Visconti. In fact, their attraction is the slowest burn of all. Their chemistry electrified the pages and it was a slow simmer that burned wild, until they confessed all their sins and gave in to it all. The forbidden aspect and the way they fought it for so long is what kept me turning those pages. And to find out why she agreed to a marriage to a man that she despised. Because other parts? Let's just say I was shaking my head at the outrageousness of it all.

Overall, this was a solid story with the perfect amount of forbidden, but the unique way of swearing for Rory? Laughable. Especially living in the world they did. Also her saying she was so bad? Not as bad as I thought. I was waiting for the feminine rage. And we got tastes of it when it combined with Angelo and his actions and what she got heated up over, but not so much her. It was more mafia light, but with enough violence to keep those mafia lovers hooked.

This book ends the road for Rory and Angelo in an easy HEA without us seeing much of it, but the ending gives us just enough of the next couple that Somme Sketcher has me intrigued. Will I be reading the next book? Yes. But I won't be rushing to it. 3.5-3.75 stars

It was a fun read, but the ending is rushed and it did not convince me to read the rest of the series.

if Angelo says i’m a silly little girl then I am in fact a silly little girl

Loved every second of it; the slow burn, the banter, the spice, everything was just chef's kiss
