I think I have what is considered as an unpopular opinion. I DNF’d this bad boy. I couldn’t understand how juvenile Rylee was and why Rhodes put up with it. The weird metaphors that I’m sure were supposed to be poetic but confused the hell out of me. The animosity that Rylee felt and how unprofessional she was with her literal employees was just blech. The way the kids talked in this book too, I mean. Kids do t talk like that, at least not any I know. Just overall very underwhelmed by this book. Not my cuppa I guess.
good read
Was excited to read this after seeing it all over tiktok and on the top 100 kindle. I love a good single parent rom com and I enjoyed this until about 50% then lost interest. I felt the banter between the main characters.was unrealistic and didn’t flow. I didn’t really see a connection between the two other than instant attraction

SWOOOOOOOOOOON!
Rylee and Rhodes were an absolute blast to read.
Gage and Payton brought all the laughs—and Rhodes is possibly THE most amazing character that Harloe had ever created.
Tropes: Enemies to lovers, brother's best friend and double single parents to boot—a recipe made in romance heaven.
While there were moments of sheer agony—between the loss of family and brutal memories—they were few and far between.
The connection, the chemistry, the undeniable pull between Rylee and Rhodes was overwhelmingly beautiful.
All the stars and then some extra because it's just THAT good. Make sure you snag the bonus scenes - they are the cherry on top of this delicious sundae!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

DNF at 39%. I just couldn’t find any connection between the characters at all. Like they were constantly bickering but it didn’t feel like it was in a hot, sexy tension kind of way but more like siblings who don’t get along
This is the emotional story of Rhodes and Rylee who are brought together by tragedy. This double single parent romance brings all of the emotions!
Rylee recently lost her brother Trevor and through his death, he left her his half of the bar he owned with his friend Rhodes. Both Rylee and Rhodes are grieving daily after they lose Trevor.
While trying to manage this new partnership in the bar, Rhodes and Rylee butt heads a lot. What starts off as enemies, turns into a story of love. Through their shared trauma, they are able to heal each other and fill the void that they are missing.
I loved the banter between them throughout the book, but my favorite part of this book was their kids. Gage and Payton were the absolute best and SO funny. They brought the comic relief that was needed for both of their parents.
There is so much tension and steam in this book - especially Chapter 21. I am still not over that!

All the emotions poured into one book that has the readers crying, swooning, laughing, and so much more. Rhode and Rylee have a complex relationship working together to see her brother’s bar and dreams come true and while they both struggle with pain of the past and the loss they feel the chemistry crackling between them. When you can’t help but buttheads with the other at every turn you know the tension is high, but with two amazing little kids trying their best to get them together the tension turns to attraction and more. This book is such a sweet read with all the emotions flying high you crave to see how things will play out with the characters.

Gotta love HEA, MC deals with loss & grief. Lots of teary-eyed moments. Spice is good!
