i was disappointed in this one. i was excited going into it cause it looked really cute and i saw some tik toks with quotes that made it seem better than it was. the biggest problem i had was with the children who were not written well at all and end up just being super annoying.

This was a super cute single dad + single mom, enemies to lovers romance! I liked it, but I didn’t love it.

I feel like…nothing really happened? I was sort of bored reading until about 70-ish percent. Lots of back and forth on the running of the bar and I didn’t feel like either of the MCs had chemistry with each other. If they hadn’t been running a bar together, I don’t actually think they’d have spent time together.

There’s also no real conflict, so there’s not really much happening besides their kids bantering and Rhodes getting in a wad about his daughter having multiple boyfriends. (She’s seven so it’s cute, playground puppy love.)

All in all, I did like the premise and there were parts I did really enjoy like the bar employees being absolute dude bros, their kids being adorable little nuisances, and no third act breakup!

The Whiskey scene. Hot.

*I was given a free, advanced copy of this book for reviewing purposes.*

Harloe Rae's latest book, Mine for Yours, is a double single parent, brother's best friend romance with tons of emotion and 2 adorable 7-year-olds.

Rylee's brother Trevor, was killed in an accident, leaving his best friend and business partner, Rhodes, to wallow in his grief. When Rylee walks into the bar they owned together, Bent Pedal, and announces that Trevor left his portion of the bar to her, Rylee and Rhodes agree to figure out how to work together and honor Trevor's wishes.

From the beginning, the chemistry between them is hard to ignore. But denying their obvious feelings for one another leads to lots of arguing, silent treatments, and intense longing. And one day they reach their limit and become explosive.

Lucky for them, Rylee's son Gage, and Rhodes' daughter Payton, are best friends from the start. They're the little cheerleaders their parents' need. After all, when you kids tell you about the fire that burns between you and a significant other, can you really deny it?

I had to DNF this book at 50 %.
English isn't my first language (but I read all of my books in english) but this book was unreadable for me.

Woah, Harloe Rae definitely took us on an emotional roller coaster ride with this one, and she did it with her usual grace and class. I love how real and raw she writes, it’s an honest story about loss and being open to healing and moving on.

Rhodes and Rylee are both grieving the loss of Trevor, but with the help of their two amazing kids, we get to watch them both heal and connect in the best possible way.

I love the way Harloe tells a story, she doesn’t shy away from the emotional topics, but she also doesn’t come across disingenuous either. You are going to feel what these characters feel and you are going to fall right along with them.

This is a beautiful story of two people coming together to make a family. Don’t miss out on this one, it’s too good to miss!

I enjoyed the books. Rhodes was perfect and so swoony. Rylee was so hot and cold with Rhodes and it got frustrating. I also wish there were more side plots throughout the story. I felt like the reasons Rhodes and Rylee were the way they were was resolved too quickly. I would have liked to have seen those story points explored more.

This was hard to get through because of my dislike for the main female character. It was cute though I just found her very annoying. I think I like the rest of it in the show of them grieving. I think was pretty well written it just it took me forever because of the main character I didn’t like her. But like I also understood that she was grieming so I understand her grieving process in his and it was good. I think the part that I liked the least was the beginning because of how she was in the very beginning, but once you get like maybe 50% in I think she gets a little bit more likable and like there’s not really that much conflict except for I guess I don’t know if it’s hatred or anger that she has but it’s mostly the grieving process
