I give it 3.5. I loved all the Gilmore girls and parenthood parts, but in certain spots she was trying too hard to be cutesy and funny and it got annoying. A quick read.
I've never read a celebrities book before and was nervous going in however this was lovely! It really felt like Lauren was just sitting down and chatting with fans and I loved hearing more about her life and her experience with the beloved Gilmore Girls
I'm a huge Gilmore girls fan. when the reboot was released on netflix I went to a viewing party. I've watched the series more times than I care to admit. So when this showed up in my suggestions I had to listen to the audiobook. It was everything I wanted it to be. Lauren Graham speaks fondly on her times on the show and the reboot as well as her time on parenthood. she's not overly pretentious, she's truly grateful for the opportunities she's had, and it's fun to listen to her reflect on it all. If you enjoy her work it's certainly a worthwhile listen or read. My recommendation would be to watch the reboot before delving in as there are some spoilers. overall a fun, quick listen.
I listened to this on audio book because I love Lauren Graham and couldn’t not hear her voice reading her words. Although many times she does veer off topic and it’s easy to forget what she was originally talking about. It felt very much like she was acting like Lorelai reading a memoir of Lauren Graham. But otherwise fun listen.
lighthearted
fast-paced
If you’re a fan of the Gilmore Girls, you might like this. Lauren Graham tells of her unusual childhood and the roles she took on that lead to the Gilmore Girls and the re-boot. It’s a fun, quick talking look at her quirky character.
I enjoyed the audio book. I prefer listening to the autobiographies of public figures as you can hear the words on the page right from the source. What I enjoyed most was her experience of working on Gilmore Girls and how that shaped her professional and personal life.
I read this in one day, which should tell you something. It's the literary equivalent of hot chocolate - not nutritious but very comforting, especially on a day when you just want to be curled up at home. The writing is definitely in Lauren Graham's voice, based on how she talked when we got to hear her interviewed about this book by the fabulous Linda Holmes!
Written in true Lorelai fashion, this funny memoir will appeal to all Gilmore Girls fans.
