I’m really glad this wasn’t the first book I read from this author because I think it would’ve turned me off from her work. I really loved the first book I read from her and even in this book I loved her writing, but I had a hard time liking the characters and understanding their decisions, which made it very difficult to root for them as a couple. I didn’t find either of the MCs particularly emotionally mature and Will especially had very few redeeming qualities about him. I felt like the last third of the book was rushed and disconnected with an unsatisfying resolution. I think Fern would’ve been better off waiting until Will figured out how to be an adult who communicates properly before giving him another chance. One of the things that bothered me the most was the diary entries that were spread out among the regular chapters. I didn’t feel like they added any value and I kept waiting for some big drama but it never happened…I don’t understand what made Fern so upset the first time she read the diary and why it kept getting alluded to but then never explained. Overall I just wish the characters had been a little more likable so that this book could have the same magic that One Golden Summer did, but I still have high hopes for this author!
This was a romance that was easy and not too cheesy like so many. I was into it-not all time favorite but definitely a good light read.

This book was full of way too much dialogue and no action. I had to skim read just to see what happened and I'm sorry I spent time doing that.

Characters-10
I loved the characters in this! I thought they were great, and they really packed a lot into a few short pages. Fern and Will were great, and I also loved the supporting characters in this. Each character was well rounded.
Setting/Atmosphere-10
The small town in this was charming. I love the vibe of the area and it made me want to go there. The resort was awesome, and I wanted to book a ticket immediately. I loved exploring Canada along with the characters.
Wirting-10
Carly Fortune had been recommended to me based on me loving Emily Henry. I can confirm the the writing style was great, and there was great banter between Fern and Will.
Plot-9
I was intrigued by the story of this. I loved the dual time line of seeing Fern and Will meet and fall in love, and then have the second chance vibe of them meeting again. I also the the sub plot between Fern and Peter.
Enjoyment-9
I enjoyed this, and I will read from Carly Fortune again.
