Asher is my favorite now in the Love and Hockey series! He is Mr. Swoon worthy. The Proposal Play has brother’s best friend, close proximity, marriage pact, and so much more. These two have been best friends forever and until a chain of events leads them to Vegas, neither of them has really looked at what was right in front of them all this time. Now that Asher and Maeve have tied the knot, it’s not so easy to move on from their pact. Asher is trying to get his foundation off the ground and Maeve is going after an art commission that could open so many doors for her. So what’s a few weeks being married to each other. That’s what these two think until they spend all their time together, putting on their show of marriage for everyone, and Asher constantly referring to Maeve as “my wife,” swoon! Maeve and Asher take us on a whirlwind adventure that will have you devouring their story to find out if these two will wake up and realize what they have and give it a shot or if their marriage will end when they agreed it will. I could not get enough of this story. I absolutely loved Asher and he has stolen my heart. Don’t miss out on this book as well as the other characters we have met in this series that give you all the laughs and feels. I cannot wait for the next book!

I absolutely ate this book up.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC through Lauren Blakley and I am so grateful! I need to read the other books in the series.

The banter & tension in this was everything to me. I feel like the spice was more unique than what I usually read which is always refreshing!! I love how much character development we got with these two through their friendship and their eventual relationship, it truly makes my heart sing.

I absolutely loved the first two books in this series, but for some reason, this one just didn’t click with me. I can’t really explain why. I think it was the characters and plot not vibing the same way as in the previous two books. The characters felt a bit immature this time around, and I have to admit, Asher's cartoon underwear gave me a major ick.

I ended up skimming through most of it.

Friends to Lovers and Fake Marriage- my favorite tropes. They are so cute together and Asher has big time golden retriever energy. It definitely dragged a little bit and could have been wrapped up sooner though. Overall I loved it and this whole series so far, and can’t wait for the next two.

Audio/Ebook Review: The Proposal Play (Love and Hockey) by Lauren Blakely, Narrated by Vanessa Edwin and Robert Hatchet

The Proposal Play brings a sweetness that has slowly disappeared from romance. Blakely never loses sight of the connection between Asher and Maeve. That interaction makes for a charming blend of tempestuous attraction and heartfelt romance that bleeds over into Edwin and Hatchet's narration. Every emotion speaks to the soul and tickles the funny bone along the way. How could anyone not fall in love with these characters?

If I had taken a drink every time the MCs called each other “husband” and “wife” at the end of a sentence, I would’ve given myself alcohol poisoning by halfway through
