I have been dying to read Maeve's story! I just love her. Asher is the sweet teddy bear. Friends to lovers and fake dating are two of my favorite tropes. I loved getting to see the past couples. I am loving this series. Maeve and Asher's story was so cute. The romance was sweet and there was so much spice! I cannot wait to read the next book.

Lauren is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I was hooked the second I started this book. He falls first and friends to Lovers has been my favorite trope and Lauren absolutely confirmed that. I loved everything about this story. The addition of mental health, self doubts and trust were handled so beautifully. Books don't often make me cry but this book has me feeling so many things and I was absolutely broken for Asher at certain points.

okay i read 80% and had to skim through the end. the pacing was off and i felt like they went from friends to having sex like maniacs and them just not talking about anything despite being friends for 10 years? how did she never pick up on the ocd after that long of a friendship? im? could have been 200 pages shorter. im so sorry

This is the third book in the Love and Hockey series, and while the friends-to-lovers trope is usually a tough sell for me, Asher and Maeve absolutely made it work. I loved their idea of starting an annual adventure as a way to focus on joy rather than dwell on their past trauma. It was heartwarming to see how neither of them felt they truly deserved the love and connection they found in each other, making their journey all the more meaningful.

Having been friends for over a decade, they’ve seen each other through so many highs and lows. That deep understanding allowed them to recognize and meet each other’s needs in a way that felt authentic and earned.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had me laughing, smiling, and (yes) occasionally yelling at them to just communicate a little better—but in the end, they pulled it together beautifully. Now, I can’t wait for the next installment in the series!

Review in progress.

Look, I’m not gonna lie and pretend I finished this book. Unfortunately this was my first DNF of the year.

I wanted to love this book and was disappointed by how much I disliked it because I enjoyed the first two books. But, the MFC was obnoxiously ditsy and just annoying. It was giving quirky but try-hard quirky in my opinion.

I also just hated the fact that as soon as they accidentally kiss it’s a constant back and forth of “I don’t want to make things awkward and lose our friendship” from both characters. It got to the point where I just couldn’t look past it anymore. It did not come off as awkward on page but they were constantly thinking about how awkward things were between them when that wasn’t the case. It just irritated me and I truly couldn’t connect with their characters like I wanted to.
