FMC: Maeve Hartley

Spice: đśď¸đśď¸đśď¸
Pages: 556
Tropes: Hockey Romance, Brotherâs Best Friend, Friends to Lovers, Fake Marriage, Vegas Wedding, He Falls First, Wedding Pact, Marriage of Convenience
Setting: San Francisco, CA
Thoughts: While I really liked the beginning and end of this book, the middle seemed to drag a little bit. There were times when I just felt like it was too long, but when the book ended I found myself wanting more of Maeve and Asher.
I loved the development of Maeve and Asherâs relationship. They both had some deep insecurities and could have definitely admitted their feelings a lot sooner, but that didnât take away from the love they had for each other. The beginning of their romance was so chaotic. From Maeve âsavingâ Asher from a disastrous date, to going to Vegas for a fun weekend and deciding their âBig Adventureâ for the year would be to get married for fun, they started their romance with a bang.
Asher quickly realized his feelings for his best friend were more than friendly. He made it his mission to make her fall in love with him. But he was also dealing with some pretty heavy anxiety that was bound to catch up to him.
Maeve was fun and always ready to have a good time, but she also struggled with feeling like she was enough, especially with her art. She had the most character growth and Asher helped her just as much as she helped him. I loved them together.

This series is hit or miss for me..2nd book was amazing but this wasnât working for me. I think it was too long and they both were annoying me - miscommunication/not talking was just annoying me. Writing wasnât bad, romance wasnât bad but pace and love story progression was CRAWLING for me. I will probably continue to punish myself and read the next book but so help me if there is a zebra bra or some other weird cheugy clothing item - itâs going to make me v upset :D

As predicted, I â¤ď¸ this one more than the last book in the series. However, they are all wonderful, and I highly recommend them! Asher and Maeve are best friends who somewhat make a marriage pact and end up in a marriage of convenience. And let's be real, that is a top-tier trope! Together, they face their problems and figure out what they really mean to each other, who they are, and who they want to become. This one is a bit spicier than the previous books. Good spicy đ.
