Just when you thought the Love and Hockey series couldnโt get any better, Lauren drops book three and exceeds all your expectations! Asher and Maeveโs story was so incredibly cute, funny, emotional and very steamy (that first real kiss as husband and wife? Good lord!); it just might be my favorite so far!
Asher and Maeve are the definition of meant to be. They really stole my heart! Their friendship was so special and the way they supported one another no matter what was really beautiful. Their journey to realizing that they were madly in love with each other was a highlight, even though they both were difficult and in denial about their feelings at times! I definitely had some moments where I had to yell out loud in frustration because of how stubborn they were being! It made the happy ending that much more satisfying, though. You could feel how honest and authentic their love was from the very beginning and just knew they belonged together.
Overall, I loved this book so much and canโt wait for The Girlfriend Zone! Thank you so much to Lauren Blakely and KP Simmons for the ARC!

Probably my favorite Lauren Blakely book so far! LOVED the depictions of mental health issues and trauma. Maeve and Asher are so well suited and I absolutely adored their best friends to lovers arc. Despite it being a longer romance book, the pacing was nearly flawless for me. Conflicts ebbed and flowed nicely and there was a delicious tension throughout that felt realistic. Asher is a dream guy for sure and Maeve is relatable in her struggles as an artist and her deep seated fears of being โtoo muchโ. I loved watching Maeveโs confidence grow (also relatable and inspiring). Also, so so happy that Asher started therapy. His statement about CBT being all about recognizing patterns sparked a realization for me. This book also contained two (three?) of my favorite microtropes โitโs always been youโ and boy obsessed/he falls first. Friends to lovers is also my favorite romance trope so this was made for me. ALSO, when Maeve said โyouโre my new dreamโ, I was internally screaming with delight (507). It made me think of Tangled, but it didnโt feel like it was copying Rapunzel and Eugeneโs arc. Anyway this was almost a 5 star read. The main thing that kept it from being 5 stars was that some of the spice scenes were not reallly my thing. They were good, donโt get me wrong, just not really my cup of tea. Overall this was fantastic. Not quite 5 stars-itโs missing that indescribable extra โoomphโ for me-but itโs still a top tier friends to lovers story!

Best friends to lovers. Such a fun read and the characters were so adorable
The Proposal Play was a sweet, and streamy friends to lovers romance. I loved the friendship between Maeve and Asher and all of their flirty banter. These two have been best friends since they had met grief support group after losing loved ones. After winning him at the team auction they get married in Vegas and after things spiral they end up staying married. I loved watching their relationship progress when the fake marriage turns into much more. This book was a great feel good romance that will leave you smiling and it will still tug on your heartstrings.
Vanessa Edwin and Robert Hatchet narrated this book in duet and were an amazing duo at bringing to life these characters. They did an amazing job delivering the banter, charm and chemistry between Maeve and Asher.
Thank you to Lauren and her team for an alc!
