ππΆπΏππ ππ΅πΌππ΄π΅π: Loved this audiobook it was so good! Iβm always a fan of friends to lovers and this book took it up a notch. If you like a thoughtful MC that is swoon worthy your in the right place. This series has been so fun and I canβt wait for the next one.
Asher has secretly liked his best friendβs little sister for the last 10years. In that time he has also became her best friend, they even made a silly marriage pact but their relationship is strictly besties.
So when Maeve starts a bidding war to win a date with him at the charity event he is a bit confused.

One of my favorite friends to lovers books I have read! I was able to get an ALC as well and the audiobook did not disappoint! I love Laurenβs books and this series has had such an amazing range of tropes and characters BUTTTT Asher is hands down the one. If I were to ever fall in love with a best friend he has to be just like him and nothing less. The tenderness he displayed for Maeve made me literally melt. They were just so adorable and perfect for each other.
One thing I absolutely love about Laurenβs books is the banter. Iβm always laughing while listening or reading but then how she can address real life topics too is perfection.
Out of all the females in this group I have to say Maeve is also my favorite! I love her artistic style along with the personality of her character. This was such a great book to start the new year off with.

OMG Maeve and Asher. I just can't even with those two. Every time I read a book by Lauren Blakely, I don't think she could POSSIBLY do better, and then she writes another one and outdoes herself!! EVERY TIME!! Maeve and Asher are the perfect best friends-to-lovers with lots of tension and longing. Ahhhh I just love them!!
Asher is the most perfect book boyfriend EVER. He's swoony, possessive, and LOVES calling Maeve his wife, even when their relationship is "fake." Maeve had been told by a previous boyfriend that she was "too much," which made her very insecure about certain parts of her personality, not wanting to push Asher away by being too much. But the beautiful part was that Asher loves EVERY single part of her, and never once thinks she's too much. He helps her find her confidence, and it's a beautiful transformation to see!
I am absolutely OBSESSED with the Love and Hockey series, and even when books have some of the tropes I don't normally love, Lauren writes in a way that makes me LOVE them in her books!! (I.e. marriage of convenience...it just WORKS with Maeve and Asher!!!!)
This series has interconnected standalones, however, I would highly recommend starting with The Boyfriend Goal to get the best experience, and know the characters in each book. And like I said, I feel like each book gets better, and that experience is super fun as well.
As for the audiobook, you don't get much better than Blakely's books that come with a FULL CAST NARRATION!!!! For our MCs, the duet narration by Robert Hatchet and Vanessa Edwin brought these characters and their emotions to life. The only downfall is it will ruin you for all other audiobooks lol

This was my first read from this author and it wonβt be my last! If youβre in the mood for a best friend, brothers best friend, hockey, spicy romance look no further! Overall I really enjoyed this one, but I wonβt lie there were a couple times that I wanted to shake them!! I was hooked immediately and didnβt want to put this book down! Because of that I got the audio! I absolutely loved the narrators! They did such a good job of bringing the characters to life! They made them even more real! I found myself getting attached to these characters and wasnβt ready to let them go!! Iβm definitely going to go back and read the other books in this series!! Mark this one as a must read!!
