Asher Callahan, you absolute hunk 😍. I love following along the Love & Hockey series and seeing these ladies get their soulmates.

Maeve felt so relate-able and i was rooting for her right alongside her husband.

If you like: dual POV, friends to lovers, he falls first, and fake marriage. buckle up buster, cuz this man is HOTTOGO.

Way too much over explaining that takes you out of the story. Explaining flashbacks rather than showing the reader. Just way too wordy.

super cute friends to lovers, hockey romance. & uhm, hello, Asher? HOLY HOT. I was NOT expecting that.

I absolutely love these book and these characters. The plot usually always falls a bit short for me and the ending felt a bit rushed, but a good read overall. This is decently spicy too.

**SPOILERS**

Uhm?? Daddy Asher??? Hello???? I was NOT expecting that side of him & I am very okay with it.

Very interested in Miles and Leighton’s story next đŸ€đŸ€

This is book 3 in the Love & Hockey series, it’s a fun, swoony, sports romance which will leave you delightfully sedated in happyland. The story is told in dual pov and follows the MCs Maeve and Asher. These two had sweet and steamy chemistry! Their friendship and gradual relationship development was cuter and Asher’s secret pinning for Maeve made him even more loveable.

I listened to the audiobook which was duet narrated by Vanessa Edwin and Robert Hatchet. These two added an additional layer of joy and entertainment. This book was a good time. It was fun, tender, and an overall feel good kinda read. This book was filled with great laughs and heart smile moments. I was invested from the first line and chapter. I mean when you start a book with “Does this clutch look like a d**k”? How can one not be interested??😜Luckily, the rest of that book was just as entertaining.

My wife trope will always be my favorite

Tropes:

-forced proximity
-marriage pact
-marriage of convenience
-Vegas wedding
-dual POV
-duet narration

I have loved this whole series so far. I was fortunate enough to get the ARC and ALC for this book. The narrators, Vanessa Edwin and Robert Hatchet, do a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. The narration is in duet, which is my favorite!!

This was an utterly swoon-worthy friends-to-lovers romance. Maeve and Asher have been friends for years. After Maeve wins the auction for a date in Vegas to save Asher from an influencer wanting to use him for followers, they wake up from a drunken night married. They are wrong in thinking they can keep this to themselves and it will be a fun story they can laugh about later, but when it goes viral on social media, they decide to roll with it.

Asher starts to fall for Maeve first. I love how their friendship naturally develops into love. It reminded me so much of my husband and me. Their years-long friendship lays down a solid path for their love to be strong and unbreakable.

Lauren’s book perfectly combines humor, love, heat, and mental health. She isn’t afraid to cover heavier topics but does it in a realistic and relatable way. I adore her writing and can’t wait to read more from this series. All of these are more than “just a hockey romance.”

The Proposal Play and the rest of the Love and Hockey series are free on KU. They are a must-read!

Quotes:
Asher: “Shut up and cuddle.”
Maeve: “There you go again—giving me orders.”
Asher: “And you love them.”
Maeve: “I’m an independent woman. I don’t want a man to tell me what to do. Unless we’re in bed and he wants to hold my throat.”

I was slowly, over time, day by day, falling in love with my best friend.

Maeve: “Do I look good in your clothes?”
Asher: “You look like
” Mine.

***The following rambling notes are for me. They may contain spoilers or no information at all. Rating are sometimes based on literary merit and sometimes based on vibes.***

Love a friends to lovers romance. Wish she hadn’t fought it for so long. He did try to show her how he felt, but I wanted him to use words earlier. He tried, but she talked herself out of every gesture and comment. Really could hace done without the grand public jesture.
