Lauren Blakely has done it AGAIN. Asher and Maeve might be my favorite so far?! Each book in this series has been a 5star read. I loved this from cover to cover. I related to both characters oh so much, and felt all the feels. This is also the first cry of 2025, so thank you for that...

Audio/Ebook Review: The Proposal Play (Love and Hockey) by Lauren Blakely, Narrated by Vanessa Edwin and Robert Hatchet
The Proposal Play brings a sweetness that has slowly disappeared from romance. Blakely never loses sight of the connection between Asher and Maeve. That interaction makes for a charming blend of tempestuous attraction and heartfelt romance that bleeds over into Edwin and Hatchet's narration. Every emotion speaks to the soul and tickles the funny bone along the way. How could anyone not fall in love with these characters?

I'm absolutely loving this series. I thought at this point there was bound to be a 3 star and the characters would weaken but no! Strong, distinctive characters for all main and peripheral characters. My only gripe is that this couple don't communicate as well as the last two, but I suppose that is part of their journey.
Definitely moving onto the 4th book, and have preordered the 5th.
There is also a spin off that's sitting outside the hockey series for one of the friend group meeting a football guy at Christmas, but I've added that to December's to read list.

I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved this book! I read it and also listened to the audiobook. Both were amazing. Asher and Maeve are pure delight and the friends to lovers trope is one of my favorites. Asher falls hard and it’s the little things he does just because he’s him that make you swoon over him. He’s attentive and kind and observant, everything you want in a best friend and a soulmate. Maeve is sunshine and energy and thoughtfulness and I love the way she doesn’t give up on Asher when things get tough. These two are definitely meant to be! If I could give this a million stars I would. It definitely rates up there in the top 10 favorites of Lauren Blakely’s books.
