i really enjoyed that book! the lonely friend that comes to the English countryside during Christmas and who trust people too easily, just fun. I guessed the plot pretty quickly but it was a really enjoyable quick read and might become in the futur one of the book i read every year around this time. the perfect book to read in one sitting during Christmas day.

This should not have been written. I don’t even know if it ever had potential, but I had hopes if not high. Read I like a high school writing workshop story.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this little novella. I love books with a lot of character development and this one had more than I was expecting. I enjoyed the gothic setting, and there was a compelling, cohesive plot. The twist was great. Overall, this novella just surprised me, and I had a good time with it. Worth the read!
This was addicting as fuck and I blazed through it. I loved the plot twist in the middle that changed the way the first part was to be interpreted. I didn’t see it coming at all, which made it even better, but when I went back I could see some hints to it (which is how you know it’s an excellent plot twist). I’m definitely going to look into his other books because this one was so good and so mysterious that I need another ASAP.
