The beginning was a bit to slow for me, but I really liked the way the story focused on the characters and the way they feel and think, it made them feel really real. The story itself is both sad an hopeful in a beautiful way

Very interesting premise with an interesting bisexual protagonist, murder mystery, family drama, and southern charm (not the racist kind)

Very pleased with this one, though it does meander a bit. I actually liked the romance aspect of her falling for Cedar, realizing Sarah just isn't right for her. But she is still bisexual and its awesome.

The mystery is very intriguing too. The fiddle is a wonderful device, I feel like this could be a classic they teach in schools if it was a short story. Guilt and grief manipulate people just as much as the demons, the music used in the novel is haunting and adds greatly to the tone.

I said when I first picked this book up that it seemed fo have a "Devil Went Down to Georgia" vibe. It definitely delivered on that promise.

This has to be one of my favorite ghost stories I've read in a long while. From the fiddle to the backstory, this was an epic tale of grief and loss. And how one man's need for vengeance can poison a family.

I'd highly recommend this for spooky season, as it will give you that Gothic ghost story we all crave this time of year.
