This is actually hilarious ngl

It’s kind of dumb, but it’s genius dumb. Also pretty short (just over 50 pages).

This is yet another book that I managed to get all the way through an English degree without once having to read. Actually it's a play, which I did not realize until opening this book. Written by Oscar Wilde, it's a satire of Victorian culture and mores. The gist of the story is about a man named Jack who has an alter ego, Ernest, who makes friends with another man, Algernon, who has his own alter ego, Bunbury. They become involved with two women and hijinks ensue. A fun story.

I found this rather uninspired, full of cheap oneliners. I'm sorry for the fans. But beware: it's on my to reread list.

Radio version from L.A. Theatreworks. Perfect!

enjoyed re-reading my high school copy and rediscovering the many insights i felt important enough to jot down in the margins at the time such as, “my mom says this to me at least once a day,” in response to algernon telling jack to stop hogging all the bread and butter.

sooo funny, i loved it, also saw a play, definitely worth it!!
