There were a few one liners in here that I genuinely laughed out loud at -- but overall it felt predictable and I just kind of spent time waiting for the plot beats to happen.
“I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.”
“To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.”
"I say it’s perfectly heartless your eating muffins at all, under the circumstances.”
For something that was readable in like, one hour, I would say it packs a pretty good punch for it's weight.
There were some comments that I thought would be interesting intersections (i.e. the diary keeping being portrayed as kind of a farce, is that a dig at anyone in particular...?) and kind of interesting expressions of the hypocrisy of the times (i.e. making fun of Jack being birthed by a train station) that probably could be analyzed. But I'm content at just reading it surface level.

I pretty funny and short story in the format of the play. I thought the premise was hilarious and the way the dialogue was written it was an easy read. The characters weren’t my favorite but they were definitely relatable. I good classic.

I listened to this as an audiobook while reading it, and it made it so much better!
I had to read this for a class, and usually im not a fan of just reading plays, i prefer watching them while reading to get the full experience.
When i started reading it i was bored and couldn’t focus for more than a few pages but i couldn’t find the play anywhere. So i settled for an audiobook i found on Youtube and i LOVED it.
It’s light, its fun, and i actually laughed out loud a few times.
I recommend finding an audiobook with multiple voices snd listening to it while reading it, just makes the experience so much better.
