This play was such a wonderful read. If you have been thinking about reading this I would highly recommend that you do. The witty dialogue was enjoyable and it proves to be a fairly quick read. After reading this I would love to see a production of it. The absurd characters show some truth about how we are as people. A comical play with a deeper theme. I can not wait to read more of Wilde's writing.

This was such a fun read! It goes by really fast, as Oscar Wilde has a great writing style that is easy to understand, while also being witty and sarcastic. The play did an excellent job of pointing out social issues from the Victorian era such as class, status, marriage, manners, etc., all through the use of puns and sarcasm. The characters were an excellent contrast to their desired namesakes (anything but earnest, if you asked me), and perfectly encapsulated the social norms of the time period.
I definitely plan on reading more of Wilde's work in the future!

Such a fun witty play! Wilde writes such a good satire on Victorian upper class society and though I love the written play seeing it performed really brings the comedy to life.
man this play is so good im going to get all my friends to read it and add annotations until you can hardly read it
