how many times do you REALLY have to mention that the character is wearing doc martens….

Very good book. It was interesting that it was set in Brighton as it meant I knew where they were talking about. The fact that it was set somewhere I knew made me relate to the characters so much more which was nice. I loved how strong the relationship between Ash and Poppy was, and that Dev and Esen helped them and supported them in the end. Overall a very enjoyable read.

Initially I thought I was going to struggle through this book, I find stand alones hard to get through.
However, after a few chapters I kept getting more and more into it.
Definitely became invested before I ever hit halfway.
The love story aspect was so cute.
The development of Ash over the book and the found family trope became my more favourite part about the story.
I rate this read.

Although a fine book, I was struggling a bit with it. I felt it was a bit long, this could easily be 100 pages less and I was therefore a bit bored sometimes. Also the beginning wasn’t really my thing. I don’t like how the writer says DM for dr martens, I thought she was talking about direct message. But I do like the concept of the reapers and how it works after you die. I wished we could see a bit more how ash family dealt with her dying. Ash and poppy were super cute but I’m a bit done with these couples were one is kinda shy and quiet and the other is all sunshine and happy and shows them the whole world.

Overall a nice read but not something I would read again.
emotional funny mysterious medium-paced
