3.5 stars. I rounded up because I couldn't put the book down. This book really heated up all the way to 98% through the book without letting up. But it's not a true 4 star because there were way too many nonsensical plot twists. I didn't expect or want a sci-fi thriller. But I got one.

Ahoy there mateys! This is a standalone over-the-top YA popcorn sci-fi thriller. The novel follows Blythe who is upset when her best friend, Gabrielle, has a mental breakdown and seemingly attacks the principal. Blythe doesn’t understand why Blythe would do something like that but, then again, their friendship has been rocky recently. Blythe decides to solve the mystery of what would cause Gabby to act out of character. Then Blythe begins suffering her own memory losses and confusion. As things progress, her other friends, Tucker and Tanya, get pulled into the plot. Wait they have memory loss and visions too!?! What a mess both story and writing-wise. The plot is confusing and the twists make no real sense. The sci-fi elements, when explained, have lots of incongruities. There is gaslighting and blood and teens sneaking around with no actual supervision. The title did not pan out. Nor did the ending. It was a fast read but just barely okay. This is not one of the author’s best. Arrr!

3.5⭐️ less thriller and more sci-fi mystery (which is not my fav) but still interesting and I appreciate that the sci-fi element was fully introduced at around 50% because I have been blindsided far too often by mystery books introducing sci-fi at the last minute as a catch all to explain everything that happened

2.5⭐️

so some of this book was cool and the premise was definitely intriguing! I liked the characters and their relationships and that there seemed to be more and more layers to unravel.

I was confused for some of it because of some of the writing and then it felt kind of rushed.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Someone Is Always Watching was a fun, fast paced YA thriller. I did find it to be a bit slow in the beginning -- I kept putting it down and picking it back up another day. However, by the half way mark, it significantly picked up and I read the rest in one sitting. I found the concept of the book to be interesting. It was nice to pick up a science fiction thriller book (even if some of the science didn't always make sense).
I didn't think the different POVs were entirely necessary but they were well done. Each character was well-developed with their own voice. I also think there was a bit too much going on. There were so many things happening to each of the characters that I didn't feel were entirely resolved by the ending.
Overall, I would recommend this to my followers if they are looking for a quick weekend read with a little murder mixed in.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!!

I loved this. Armstrong always knows how to write the perfect male lead! The premise of the story was interesting and fast paced. The characters are great. I also love that I never knew who the "bad guy" was part way through the book.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It is such a bizarre story, that it's good? I definitely did not expect the ending.
