Today is my tour stop thank you hq and this one I was very excited about. I have loved Louise Jensens other books and had high hopes for this one too. It was really fast paced, talking about the Sinclair Sisters and how they were abducted 20 years ago. How each of them have been left damaged and understandably traumatised. It was a really good read, a few moments I felt were slight unrealistic but thrillers can be like that. It didn’t put me off at all and to anyone that loves a thriller I would highly recommend.
There is nothing that gets me reading faster than an exciting thriller with chapters from different perspectives. In this novel, there are three in the first part - one from our main protagonist Leah set in the present, another from her husband which is also in the present and then finally a third from her older sister, Carly, which is set when the girls were kidnapped. These change slightly in part two, but I'll let you discover those for yourself so as not to give anything away.
I was completely hooked from the minute I started reading and as a lot of the chapters ended on an exciting note I just had to keep going to find out what happened and what was coming next. The chapter endings did feel rushed but I don't feel it took away from the overall enjoyment of the book.
I also thought that the author dealt with Leah's OCD extremely well and you could tell a lot of effort had gone in to the research behind it.
If you enjoyed Behind Closed Doors by BA Paris, you will also love The Stolen Sisters.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

Okay, this was tough for me! It was such a long book and I never got fully invested.
The story follows 3 girls who were abducted and the consequences it had on their lives. Switching between past and present we learn of the abduction, the grave conditions they had to stay in and the reasons behind it all. Odd, for sure.
We also follow them into adulthood. The fear, terror, loneliness, OCD that affected them all.
It needed to be faster paced for me. I see so many people loved this but I struggled.

Twins Leah & Marie, and their older sister Carly were kidnapped 20 years ago. Yes, it's coming up to the anniversary and there is a lot of hype around it as usual, but even more so for this big one. And now the sisters are reliving their worst nightmare, each with a different story.
This was the first book I've read by Louise Jensen and I don't think it will be the last. I was pretty much hooked from the beginning; the story itself jumped between then & now and it was all rather eerie, but heartbreaking at points too, just imagining what these three girls went through, are currently going through.
It touched on a lot of issues that are prevalent in society today, including drugs, mental health and relationship issues. And the thing is, I could totally understand why the girls as victims of what they went through, would suffer. I think that's a sign of excellent writing.
There were twists and turns right from the beginning - I'm usually good at guessing plot twists but there were some in here I just didn't consider!
My only niggle with this was the jumping between characters/chapters where they only had half a page and then it moved on again - otherwise, a must read thriller for 2020!

This was a exceptionally twisty, creepy thriller that I did not want to put down. Having read 4 other books by Jensen, this one created the strongest sense of dread and mystery. Awesome read!
An incredible and intense story about 3 young girls who have been through a traumatic event and have to learn to live with it for the rest of their lives. We have to POV's one from the past where we see what happens when it is happening and one in the present where we see the 3 young girls as adults and how they have handled what happened to them.
I was hooked from the beginning. Seeing Leah, Marie and Carly handling what happened in their different ways was heartbreaking but I fell in love with each of their personal stories and development. Seeing Leah's POV was probably the hardest to read through as you could see she had never really got to a point where she could live with herself and know that what happened was terrible but wasn't her fault. The mental health aspects in this book were really well done and really shine a light on the after effects of being kidnapped.
Throughout this story I was constantly in a state of either heartbreak or shock, the closer it got to the end the more plot twists I had and honestly I wasn't expecting it to end the way it did. I had my own theories on the plot and for a long time I really thought I had the George part of the story down but I was not even close and I loved that. This has got to be one of the best psychological thrillers I have read.

I could not put this book down!
The story begins with how the Sinclair sisters were abducted which is told from the point of view of Carly. From then on each chapter is told from a different sisters perspective, alternating between then (when they were abducted) and now (living with the aftermath) the majority being from Leah’s point of view.
The abduction left me feeling terrified. I felt their fear and I had a continuous knot in my stomach. The book does detail what happens during their time in captivity but the book actually focuses on what happened after they had escaped. I thought this was brilliant and very different.
The trauma that each of the girls have to now live with is heartbreaking and dealt with beautifully by the author, from OCD behaviour, not trusting anyone and alcoholism to drug use. This book explores how one single life event can affect you forever and all in different ways.
Every single chapter ended with a cliffhanger which meant I couldn’t put the book down. It’s absolutely full of twists and turns and I’m happy to say I didn’t guess any of them which is another reason why I adored this book.
Honestly this had everything! So many twists that will have you questioning everyone and everything, but not just that, it also takes a look at how rebuilding your life isn’t always that easy. Beautifully written with a satisfactory ending – definitely worth a read!

The Sinclairs are three sisters and they each have their own personal problems as a result of what happened them twenty years ago. This story is divided into now and then with each sister telling their own side of the story in each chapter.
Oh my word I cannot even begin to say how much I loved this book. It’s a deep and dark psychological thriller. At times I nearly couldn’t breathe with all the suspense and tension in this book. From the start this book had me gripped and the fast pace of this book meant I didn’t want to put it down.

medium-paced
I was bored from the beginning. I just struggled to get into this but I had hope it would get better.
I liked that it was set with two timelines of then and now. So we discovered things bit by bit.
However I just couldn't get into this at all. It had a trope I hate of cheating for the sake of it. I say that cause I really don't think it added to the story. I get wanting to add some suspicion and suspense around George but then the reveal just felt underwhelming.
I will admit I didn't see the reveal of who he was or the final twist. But I also wasn't looking for it either.
It felt both twists and reveals came too late for me to really care.

At times this felt a little far fetched and things were too easily resolved.
Wow oh wow!!! This book has definitely given me all the feels. I am a huge fan of Louise's anyway and this book might actually be my new favourite. I was so excited to receive the E-arc of this book.
I have adored this one, the plot is completely unique and in true form with Louise's books, I have had absolutely no idea where this was going. I definitely could not predict this one.
I have loved the sisters, each of them dealing with the past in their own way. I have also enjoyed the flashbacks to the past. This has really enabled the reader to fully understand the situation they were in.
I have to say, I hated George from very early on. I feel he was as supportive as a chocolate teapot. However, he has added an edge to the story that made me feel for Leah even more.
Louise has a talent for pulling me into her books, her writing style paints a clear picture in your mind and keeps you completely hooked. This has been gripping and completely addictive. I am literally in awe of this amazing lady and this is another book which has completely blown me away.
I absolutely cannot say anything negative about this book. It is filled with mystery and suspense, the characters are fantastic plus Louise has created another masterpiece. My pre-order is in for the paperback version of this to add to my collection of novels by this absolutely amazing lady.
A definite five star read, I think this is deserving of so much more to show how truly wonderful this author and gem of a book.
