Nicolas was one of my favorites from the first book and I was so excited for his story to continue.

He is charming, hilarious, determined, layered, and I loved him. Jules was all those things as well. Her fierceness and protectiveness made her a lovable main character.

The plot of these books never fails to pull me in and I have a great time reading them. They’re short and easy to binge. Engaging me from page one.

I will say I felt like Nicholas deserved a bit more. The romance was not there like it was in book one and I missed the chemistry. It seemed to happen too fast to be believable.

I would have liked more exploration of that relationship and the aftermath of this story.

This is a fun regency historical fiction meets fantasy story that features a down on his luck lord, a cursed heroine, and a cranky bird. Nickolas has been through a lot with his meddling, demanding mother who tries to force him to marry to save their name and wealth. A chance meeting during a getaway has him making a bargain with Jules, our cursed heroine. This story is made up of such tropes as idiot to lovers, fake engagement, cursed heroine, and arranged marriage. The side characters all add to the overall story and it’s impossible to not fall in love with the judging bird!

Within The Hollow Heart was a cozy, charming tale I really enjoyed. The story was fast paced and entertaining and I read it out in one sitting.
This is a regency inspired YA fantasy romance that gave us some hilarious moments, great banter, quirky characters,  mystery, curses, family secrets, betrayal and more.

Our MC's, Nickolas and Jules were likable characters. You heart will go out to Nickolas with all he'd been through due to his mother's manipulations.

Jules was strong and witty and her quick thinking was able to get Nickolas out of a precarious situation after his mother's plotting. The side characters were wonderful additions to the story especially the judging bird!

The story took us on quite an adventure and the mystery surrounding Jules was intriguing.  It was a slow burn tale that was told from Nickolas POV. This was a light hearted tale with sweet moments and hilarious conversations and was a great palette cleanser. I would definitely recommend it.

For such a short read I really enjoyed this one! It was great to be back in this world and see some familiar characters. I loved the first book in this standalone series but it one was really good as well!

It had family secrets, betrayal, marriage of convince, royalty, a meddling bird and a magic fae curse!

Jules and Nickolas were such great characters in the first book so I was very excited to learn more about them in this one and they really are just such a great paring! The romance was so sweet and I love how Nickolas cared for her and Jules slowly opened up to him.

The secrets and curse were so interesting to read about! Not to mention that climax ending, I feel like it ended in such a perfect way! I loved reading those ending scenes!

I don't want to spoil too much but this one was a really good palette cleanser for me after so many long heavy books so if you’re looking for a sweet, quick, regency-era fantasy read filled with fae, adventure, mystery and a slow burn romance then go and pick this one up!

Thank you to the author and BOMM tours for the eArc. This did not influence my review in any way.

Another fun read! Nickolas has earned his reputation as a rake and a wild one, but he's trying to change and ends up wrongfully accused of committing a crime. His mother is trying to match him up with conniving women who only want him for his station. A chance encounter in a garden lands him in a fake engagement with a girl from the chancery. Jules is facing issues of her own and needs his connections to try to solve her problems. Will they be able to help each other out of their situations or will the fae prince ruin both of them?
