3 Stars. Very average .5 short story. Barely good enough to get me to try book one of the series.

This was a very short introduction to a new character. I felt the story could have been expanded a bit as it seemed to be over as soon as it started. It was a decent enough read, though.

I am really intrigued by this series. I like this short story and it gives a little more background into Colter Shaw and segues into the first book (which I listened to before this). I like how he is able to suss out the truth behind the cases he takes on for rewards

There was a lot of substance, an interesting storyline and complex characters. It was short and fast paced as was to be expected, and I enjoyed it. Would’ve liked to see a longer, more fleshed out version though.
