Peace, Love Resistance is a new adult romance story featuring two characters who could not be more different. But while Ty and Tristan’s meeting was decided by fate, it wasn’t always easy for the reader to accept or even appreciate.

To be honest, I wasn’t completely on board with the twin-flame thing—or really anything Tristan had to say. Frankly, she was extremely annoying and preachy. Her conspiracy theory beliefs were, thankfully, not all completely off the wall—though it irked me tremendously to know that she was most definitely a person who was never going to vaccinate her kids—but the number of times she went on a multiple-page-long shpeal about why all people are sheeple and we’re all brainwashed and yadda yadda yadda…It got old so fast. It’s a wonder Ty could even stand it.

But Ty isn’t faultless either. The book is mostly a ping pong between him complaining about how much he hates his parents and Tristan ranting about how brainwashed she believes all of us to be. I won’t lie; it made the first half of the book a major drag.

But I pushed on, and I’m glad I did. After about the middle point, something about the tone changed. Tristan got a little less preachy, perhaps, or maybe Ty got a little less entitled. I actually consumed the second half pretty quickly because in the end I did find the romance sweet and the culture of Tristan’s van-living, off-the-grid, free life kind of romantic in its own way. If the author had sped up the development in the first half of the story a little bit, this book would have probably knocked it out of the park.

While the ending, for some, might be a little anticlimactic, I ended up liking it; it did seem to tie things up nicely. The “villain” wasn’t who I was expecting, and the book would have taken a very different turn if it was. I think perhaps it might have been a little better, honestly, but it would have made this book darker and grittier than the light read it is, giving it a little more depth than it had. Still, I like it the way it is and think the author did a pretty good job of telling it.

I probably wouldn’t ever pick this book up again, but I would be interested to see what else this author has written. She has a clear and concise writing style, although I did find a few word misuses (such as “layer” instead of “lair”). I also thought she did a good job developing the characters. I did feel slightly weirded out about reading explicit sex scenes with a 17-year-old, but I guess since it’s a novel and not a movie or TV show, it’s not creepy…right?

Barring that, if you like romance, you’ll probably like this book! Just go in knowing that you’ll feel attacked for being a sheeple, and try not to be too annoyed when Tristan says it for the thousandth time.

This story was very different to anything I have read ( and also immensely enjoyed ) in the past by Jettie Woodruff, but this so wasn't a bad thing just a different type of journey waiting to be experienced. Tristan, Tobias and baby T, ( the three T's ) every moment of there life path touched my heart. It was wonderful seeing Ty grow, starting out as a typical selfish uncaring teenager only interested in how his life is affected by those around him, too a more thoughtful empathetic young man, questioning things instead of taking everything at face value. the relationship that progresses between Tristan and Tobias is beautiful in its simplicity and the emotion that connects them to baby T words can't describe, I am so in love with these three individuals. The idea that happiness is a state of mind makes you really think, in conclusion this novel makes you question your very existence and think deeply about the way you live your life and see others, it makes you want to colour between the lines yourself, Peace, Love, Resistance is more than just a story its a thought producing journey which will change the way you think.

This story was amazing but on a level that made me question everything in society. The book does not preach but just opens your eyes to other things that are around you and the way you deal with certain things.

The book was about love, trust and openness but also just about living the life that you want to. I definitely think there are ways that my own life will change due to this book but in certain ways I am really understanding what Tristan was getting at.

I loved Tristan and her view of the world. She understands some of the basics and I think she can teach us all something from it all. I definitely can do better with what I have learned from the book and will definitely try harder with other things.

Tobias was a person I could completely relate to as I think he represents most of us and how we think and act. I absolutely loved the changes he made in his life and I could understand his anger towards his parents, specifically his mom. He saw the world one way at the beginning but definitely opened up to looking at it differently at the end.

This book is not a typical romance book but is a book that will challenge your mind and the way you view things. It definitely made me look at things in a different way and I really think that I have learned a few things and will definitely be working on a gratitude journal after this with my kids!

I look forward to the next book in the series!

This is my first book by this author and it was powerful and intense....and very long.
The idea of this story intrigued me, it was different than what I normally read. I think I was given a life lesson though I'll never give up my luxuries. At times though I felt that I was being lectured.
Tobias (Ty) at 17 meets 21 year old Tristan and baby T literally just been born and his life changes. The spend a Summer time travelling and living like hippies in touch with nature. There is an underlying drama from 18 years ago when Tristan's father was killed and I was waiting to see if there was closure on that event.
Intriguing well put together tale with interesting characters, I liked it.

Peace, Love, Resistance by Jettie Woodruff is a very unique love story. Just like the blurb says, it is not your average love at first sight story, it goes well beyond that to deeper level for 17 year old Tobias and 21 year old single mum Tristan.

Even though the specific subject matter may not be, Myers characters are very real and relatable.

Peace, Love, Resistance is A journey: physically, emotionally and spiritually.
"I was finding me, my true me. No, not finding. I was creating me. I was waking up."
It makes some hard hitting points designed to expand your thinking providing you with a chance to reflect and have an opinion.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
