A new journey to be found, a new story to be told, and a greater understanding of not only our characters, but the world in which it surrounds.

I thought this book held so many more adventures, greater lore to the world of the faerie, and I love that the story we get from the end of the first book is the premise of what's to follow within this book. Ultimately, this is where the romance between Emily and Wendell really grows, and I think my favorite part came from watching the way Emily shifts in her writing descriptions of Wendell, especially as the story progresses.

I have a great appreciation for this writing structure as journal entries sustained in this book, and even the points where it cuts off mid retelling of events, to showcase there was an abrupt pause, or in some cases, when Wendell picks up where Emily has paused. Again, it just allows us as the reader to feel as thought we're reading through true events.

I have already pre-ordered the next book!

Liked this one more than the first. Emily becomes a fuller character & Wendell is better, too.

This book continues the cosy, heartwarming vibe of Emily and Wendell and their crazy, fantastical world of faeries and creatures. Following the academic success they achieved in the first book, and the antics of Wendell’s questionably psychotic family, Emily and Wendell continued their studies to the Austrian Alps in the hopes of finding Wendell’s faerie home. I loved the extension of characters we were introduced to; Emily’s niece, their cranky colleague Professor Rose, and Wendell’s cat. It felt like a true sequel and I was delighted to find out that there would be a third, which I serendipitously found today in a bookshop today!

I also loved the slight increase in romance between Emily and Wendell. Emily is such an awkward person in typical social interactions and Wendell is so enamoured by her that it pulls on my heart strings. I can’t wait to read more!
