Could I give this one 6 stars? I had such high hopes and it proved even more delightful than I dreamed it'd be. It got us thinking, talking and prompted lots of other conversations (about: sign language, civil rights, slavery, systems of marriage that sell women to their husbands, that one time I *almostcertainly* saw Yoko Ono when I was in NYC...) It is all approached with the right amount of information, and inspires even Rebel Women ;)
Although, the Hillary Clinton one made me cry a bit. And my daughter knew it would. *sigh*

I listened to this book. I enjoyed the stories told. However, what I enjoyed more was hearing the diverse readers read them. It was a good listen to encourage girls to stand up and be strong.
The idea is incredible but it felt superficial. It's great for a fly-by introduction to some outstanding females but I would not use this for bedtime stories because they're too short.

Ending 2017 on a very high high - probably one of the best books I've ever read. It exceeded expectations and is something everyone should read - young, old, of every gender... it's just great. Special thanks to my bestie Annelise for giving it to me for Christmas.
Asi kızlara uykudan önce hikayeler, kız çocukları için oldukça ilham verici, güzel bir çalışma olmuş. Kitabın dediği gibi her yaştan insan okuyabilir ama yine de yetişkinler için bir tehlike barındırdığını düşünüyorum. Daha önce bu kadınlar hakkında okumamış kimseler duruma fazla romantik ve pozitif yaklaşabilir. Oysaki pek çoğu büyük acılar çekmiş, büyük haksızlıklara uğramış kadınlar. Bu nedenle okurken gerçekte olanların okuduklarınızın daha fazlası olduğunu kendinize hatırlatmanızı öneririm. Örneğin Hypatia'nın acı sonunu bilmemek o kadına büyük bir haksızlıktır. Ama tabiki hedef kitle çocuklar olduğu için bu negatif durumlardan bahsedilmemesini normal karşılıyorum. Sadece okuyucularına bir uyarıda bulunmak istedim. Herkese iyi okumalar.
