In which the gang takes big risks and still survives, a lot of interesting things about Yeerk politics are introduced and never resolved, and Marco drives for the first time.

In the second book in the Animorphs series, we already start to see some of the complications of Controllers, especially voluntary Controllers. Already, too, the Animorphs are having trouble separating their Animorphs lives from their everyday lives. Also, the cover features Rachel morphing a cat, which is pretty awesome.

Definitely one of my favorites and one I've read many times. Rachel in cat form is very relatable to me and I love how it drives her arc from here on out.
