Lovely stuff. It isn’t quite Le petit prince, but it reminded me of it a bit, and that means a lot in a world with very few books like Le petit prince. This one has much simpler and more straightforward messages, à la “be kind to yourself and others” and “love is the most important,” but presented so sweetly and sincerely that it worked for the most part. Definitely a book potentially enjoyed by all ages, and I had the thought while reading that it could be a nice one for a new or struggling reader due to the simplicity and illustrations combined with the gentle thoughtfulness, though they might struggle with the handwriting, depending. It would make an excellent gift, and I think I might just want a copy myself.

5/5
“Isn’t it odd. We can only see our outsides, but nearly everything happens on the inside.”

I got trouble with the books which are said to be inspirational but motivational. Without words, I need action to see that will inspire me.
But this book. It became one of my favourite books. Not because it is inspiring of course it is. But how the whole book is executed, drives the story to another level.

Honestly the absolute best kind of “children’s” book. A story rich with love, kindness, and the beauty of friendship.

It takes hardly 20 minutes to read through and be absolutely mesmerized with the illustrations and the intent. But this is something that will stay for a lifetime 🧡

“One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things.”

“Being kind to yourself is one of the greatest kindness.”

“The greatest illusion, is that life should be perfect.”

“Always remember that you matter, you’re important and you bring to this world things no one else can.”

Ik las het in de boekwinkel en werd er emotioneel van. Moest het meteen kopen want dit zijn het soort boodschappen waar ik van hou. <3

Sweet book with life lessons. Illustrated with beautiful sketches. Sentiments i.e. "What is the hardest thing you've ever done? Ask for help." "I am alright just the way I am." (paraphrase)
