The sentiment of the story is lovely (though I felt the introduction spoiled the readers' getting to discover the characters for themselves), but the decision to use a calligraphy-like font (possibly the author's handwriting?) made it very difficult to read.

A beautiful, gentle celebration of friendship and a reminder of kindness. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook while reading along because I am so glad to have been read the beautiful story by the author while also taking in the gorgeous illustrations. I want these images framed in my home. Truly lovely!

This is a beautifully written and illustrated loosely written story that tells of a young boy, a mole who loves cake, a quiet fox, and a philosophical horse as they find their way through the countryside and become home to each other. This is one of those books that will be returned to again and again and will easily become a new favourite and classic.
