Time Travel! Confusing prophecies! England! Oh my! It's almost like an episode of Doctor Who! Gwen is a normal teenager girl with a big family secret. She comes from a family of time travelers and her cousin Charlotte is supposed to be the next family member with the inherited gene and Gwen has been told what to do and how to help Charlotte, except Charlotte's not the time traveler Gwen is. Gwen is confused and shocked the first time she travels back and she panics because this is not how it was supposed to happen Gwen was the normal ignored teenager in her family and Charlotte had prepared her entire life to travel back in time. So suddenly Gwen finds herself trying to catch up and learn what she's supposed to know and deal with the infuriating Gideon all the while her mother keeps telling her not to trust anyone in the secret society of time travelers.
I really enjoyed this book personally. I discovered it on a shelf at Half Price Books and I fell in love. Gwen is your pretty basic teenager for the most part just trying to catch up with suddenly being special because she's a time traveler. I would recommend this book to anyone who love the idea of time travel, whether they be Doctor Who fans, readers of The Time Travelers Wife, or have seen Back To The Future Parts 1-3 a million times.

The plot of this book is really unique. The author looked at the concept of time travel from a different perspective which gave the story an amazing storyline.
However, the style of writing was almost as if a middle grader was the one writing it, but keep in mind that it was translated from German, so either the original writing was complicated and the translator didn't do the best job or the original writing itself was very simple.
Another point is that there was some stereotypes in the characters and some of them didn't really have any actual personality, but they were all side-characters and weren't that important. The thing is that some actions of the main characters seemed rather childish or out of place, but I didn't mind it as it didn't greatly affect the story.
I loved the two main characters. The mystery and suspect kept on the edge of my seat, and I can't wait to read the rest of series.

This book had so much potential and it just... it makes me sad.
The plot of the book is good. I like the idea of time travel and the mytery behind Lucy and Paul and what happens when they have the blood of the twelve people, it's all interesting and it could have made the a great read. Even the relationship between Gideon and Gwenyth was interesting.
Where things went south was the writing. It was bad. It was all dialogue and monologuing, and barely any description. And the dialogue also wasn't good. They talked really posh and early-twentieth-century. Just because they live in London doesn't mean they talk weird. The narrative was also a bit younger than it should have been.
And what's worse is that I'm not even sure whose fault that is. Was it the author who wanted it that was or was it the translator? This is exactly why I'm not fond of translations.
Overall, this could have been good but because of the writing, and a few plot holes, it didn't work. I don't recommend it.
