This is my first Max Monroe book and now I need to add their back catalog to my TBR. I devoured this book in a day and I now need the second book ASAP. This story is about two emotionally confused people finding unconditional love under extraordinary circumstances.

Finn is such a good-natured person but his anger over his family is so deep-rooted that he refuses to let anyone in. He does this frustrating push & pull with Scottie that is heartbreaking. But once he comes out the other side of his emotionally unstable ways, he is book boyfriend personified. He is witty and truly loves Scottie with everything he has. He becomes her anchor when she really needs him.

And boy does Scottie need him! She really goes through it in this book. At first, you think the story will highlight Finn's character arc and while it does, the twists & turns around Scottie's journey really had me turning the page. There were "mean girl" aspects that went to another level I didn't expect but her biggest twisted circumstance had my stomach in knots and tears were shed (no spoilers here!). She falls hard & fast for Finn and while their love story is filled with angst, yearning & sweet moments, it's the story allowing that love in that is the heart here.

The friends we meet are such great supporting characters that had me wanting to learn more about each of them. There is some spice but the open-door spicy scenes are just quick glimpses (I would say a

At the start of Learning Curve, Authors Max & Monroe promises you’ll get sucked into the world of Dickson University; and I’m here to say that truer words have never been spoken!

The novel focuses on Scottie and Finn, two Dickson University freshmen who appear to come from two separate worlds, however they soon find out they have more in common than they would like to believe. Along with these lovable main characters, the list of supporting characters (Ace, Julia, and Blake just to name a few) are just SO likeable; the kind of crew you’d want to have your back while navigating the murky waters that come along with navigating freshman year. The kind of crew that end up becoming your found family!

Overall, really enjoyed my first Max & Monroe novel; looking forward to going back and reading more! This book was PACKED with drama and twists; at times I felt it was a bit much and reminded me of the Grey’s Anatomy series. The tropes are SPOT ON and if you’re a fan of spice and CW vibes, this is a must read!

Thank you authors Max & Monroe and Hambright PR for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This book was kind of all over the place, and the author’s note does mention this. Both main characters have alcoholic parents. Finn enrolls at this specific university because one of the professors is a half brother but doesn’t know it. Scottie has a toxic boyfriend and things gets out of hand. Both Scottie and Finn have a connection, but Finn thinks she deserves better.

I really liked the side characters and the friend group that they could trust. When everything blew up, it was heartwarming to see that Finn and his siblings weren’t alone.

There’s a lot going on in this story and I felt like it could’ve been way shorter than what it was.

Drama, angst, and spice. What's not to love?

I read this book in a day because I truly couldn't put it down. Scottie and Finn are both very likable characters. Yes, they acted dramatic and immature at times, but they're only 18. I appreciate that they both went through some personal growth during the story, rather than just starting off as flawless, perfect beings.

My only major criticism is that the last 1/5 of the book seemed unnecessary. The book could've ended before that point. Scottie and Finn were together again as a couple. They had both grown and matured. The primary dramas in both Scottie and Finn's lives reached satisfying conclusions. The last curveball seems to kinda have been thrown in just for the sake of it, and not because the book actually needed it. But putting aside how unnecessary it seemed to me, I'm glad that the authors didn't give the main characters the easy solution to the issue; they have to properly deal with the tough problem thrown at them.

Overall, an enjoyable read that I'd recommend to fans of college romance. I look forward to seeing Blake chase after his dream girl in the next book.

This was insane

I really liked this book until about 70% through it, then it was just so-so. I love a good twist, but twist after twist is really unnecessary. I hate writing this review because I really loved her other books I’ve read.

When Max Monroe said, "This book is going to turn your world upside down," THEY. WERE. NOT. KIDDING. This put me through the ringer. The drama is next level, and I ate it up. I laughed, I sobbed, I sat on the edge of the chair, and I paced so much my floor will probably have permanent marks.

I went into this story thinking oh no yet another college/university love story because I prefer my romance characters to be older than that But oh man was a wrong.
I'd never not read a story by Max Monroe these authors have a way of pulling me in and grabbing my heart no matter what they write.

This story was incredibly heartbreaking, and aching. It tells a tale of 2 college student along with some pretty amazing friends and their families. You'll fall hard for the friends and families as you feel so much for the MC's. I don't like to give spoilers but this is so worth it to read the story really got me and I didn't want it to end, I cannot wait for book 2.
