I wasn’t expecting a murder mystery, but this was a fun romp into a different part of Nevermoor! I felt it slowed down in the middle, as Morrigan navigated the Silver District (presumably to help us appreciate how awesome the Deucalion is, also really missed Jack, Fen, and the hotel regulars), and of course there is a lot of miscommunication that happens, but Jessica Townsend certainly stuck the landing and I felt all the warm fuzzy feelings for Morrigan, Jupiter, and the 919 crew.

I wish there had been more Ezra. I’m really rooting for the bad guy in this series and he’s barely even in this book. It’s mainly focused on rich people behaving badly and that shouldn’t carry a story in this series, in my opinion. The lack of communication trope here is annoying. I wish she had just gone back to Jupiter earlier and got on with her training. School was rarely even mentioned. Just her horrible family that she didn’t even know she had and they didn’t even want her. I wanted all that noise to stop and her just be a better Wundersmith at the end.

Same magical Nevermoor world, but add in an intriguing murder mystery, some (devastating) tension between Morrigan and Jupiter, some backstory about a lot of different things, and this book gave me everything I'd been hoping for.
