I devoured this entire 587 page thing and still needed more!  I missed being in Nevermoor, it was so good to be back.  If you have still yet to travel there get yourself a brolly and hop on the line as soon as you can!  Probably the best series I have read since Harry Potter

I loved being back in this world but also I DESPISE miscommunication tropes. I know I know our FMC is only a middle grader but still!!! I need more talking to happen much earlier in the book. I also wanted more magical school.

It kind of felt like Townsend didn’t know how to progress the wider story in a meaningful way, so she wrote a book that was a complete and unnecessary tangent. (Spoilers head) It didn’t move the plot forward, and didn’t answer any of the big questions; namely, why is Squall training Morrigan, what is he so afraid of? Townsend completely forgot what story she set out to write and decided to just write a murder mystery instead.

More things I didn’t like:
- has everyone forgotten that Squall is a mass murderer?? He’s kind of become this grumpy pseudo father figure and comes across quite likeable
- why have so many family members suddenly appeared for Morrigan in Nevermore? I don’t like that it took away the idea that she’s a refugee and has found family and made a life for herself in a new country. Don’t worry guys it’s ok, her family is actually from Nevermoor so she does really belong.
- Jupiter had all the answers Morrigan had been looking for all along - it was all just a case of bad communication between the two…really? 500 pages just for that?
- just casually adding in time travel to reverse things that have gone wrong?? It felt lazy, and I don’t think Townsend thought through what implications adding super-easy-time-travel will have in the future.

I loved the first few books and I re-read them all in anticipation of this new one. Really, very disappointed.
