First off, there was way less beach than I anticipated lol. I’m honestly kind of confused with this title. Putting that aside, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Our main characters were in the middle of very messy life situations, and while they of course made some mistakes here and there, they decently communicated at the end of the day. The FMC’s family drama was especially interesting to me. The MC’s are writers, and I liked hearing snippets of their works in progress. I think this is squarely in the middle in my EmHen rankings. (Still need to read Book Lovers!)

the first 100 pages were sooooooo slow and boring, it was all very predictable and i think i vomited reading the ending, like come ON
overall: vomit cute and 3.5/5 good, no fun twists and turns

I’ve owned this book since it released back in 2020 but was worried the hype would impact my enjoyment! This book is so beloved I felt I couldn’t help but go in with high expectations and that made me nervous because I didn’t want to be let down but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised with how much depth this had despite being labelled a fluffy romance! It was definitely fluffy and sweet but there was a lot more substance to it than that. 

I related so much to Gus which I wasn’t expecting when his character was first introduced, but as we got to know him he really showed he had so much more to him and his backstory really tugged at my heartstrings! 
Maggie and Pete were sooo cute and I loved seeing their interactions with January and Gus!!
Keen to read more of Emily Henry’s books!
