Grew up loving the musical and after the movie came out, I finally decided to read the book. Never knew how different it could be but I honestly enjoyed it. The hidden meanings and messages of the book were really interesting in how the author wove them through the classic retelling of the Wizard of Oz and the curiosity kept me entertained within it.

this book was so odd to me. i absolutely LOVE the musical (stage and film), so i wanted to read this! i find the story interesting, but the writing style and how the plotting was structured was just so strange to me. it felt like large moments of things i wasn’t super interested in, followed by brief moments of super exciting twists and situations.

probably won’t pick up the other three books, too much else on my TBR for now!
