I’m glad I read this book but it amazed me how far it strayed from the source material and didn’t really make sense in the context of the Wizard of Oz. Also, a lot of times when something big would happen, the plot would just move on and I couldn’t tell if I had read it wrong. I really liked Elphaba and thought her backstory was interesting but I did think her motivation to get the shoes was a little off. All in all, it’s solid fan fiction
