4.5 stars - Loved it! Would re-read.
This might be my favorite Christmas book of this year's releases (so far). I loved the magical elements with the charm bracelet. There's definitely a Hallmark-esque sort of arc and feel to this. For me, that's a feature, not a bug, but YMMV. The characters are absolutely my favorite part of this story. The main characters, the family and friends, the small town. I loved all of it!

This book is a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold day. I loved this story overall but one small thing about the ending I didn't like so I am giving it 4 stars. Spoiler for why: I know it may be after Christmas but this is definitely a cute Christmas romance!
Spoiler
I honestly didn't want Aidan to propose, I know they dated previously and knew a lot about each other but they had reconnected 2 weeks ago. I wanted the ring charm to represent her opening up the jewelry shop and be like her first sale or something. I wanted more time to be sure this relationship would work in their real lives before a proposal but this is a hallmark movie so I get it. But I will take a star.
There is only one word to describe this book...magical! Ashley indeed has the Christmas of her dreams, thanks to a mysterious lady on the train and a special charm bracelet.
Love love loved this one. It read just like a hallmark movie. Full of Christmas, magic romance and family. The premise was so fun with the magical Christmas charm bracelet. I adored the pup fruitcake and the snowman building. This one was so much fun and wish they had actually made this one into a movie.
Ashley felt like she was living the dream. She lives in New York City, she thinks her boyfriend is about to propose and she works in a jewelry store with her best friend and roommate. To make things even better, she’s going to spend Christmas in Paris and she thinks she’ll come home engaged.
But things don’t go according to plan. Instead of going to Paris, Ashley winds up heading to her hometown of Owl Creek. She hasn’t been home for the holidays in 8 years, ever since her and her first love broke up.
While on the train home, she pours her heart out to a lady who reminds her of Mrs Claus. When she wakes up after a quick nap, the lady is gone and Ashley had a stocking with a charm bracelet and a note from the lady.
She arrives in her hometown and odd things start happening right away. She runs into her old boyfriend quickly, and soon the charms are the bracelet seem to be predicting things to come on her visit. First she finds a dog with a red bow on her parents’ doorstep, the exact dog she wanted when she was young.
I enjoyed the story of each charm coming true, each one would connect to something that happens in Owl Creek.
Soon Ashley isn’t so sure whether her life in NYC is her dream or if her hometown, and everything in it, is calling her back.

Cute small-town Christmas romance. Perfect for a quick listen on a rainy afternoon.
Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson is a thoroughly enjoyable Christmas novel that perfectly captures the magic of the season.
Having left her small town of Owl Lake and her high school sweetheart behind her years ago to make a brand new life for herself in New York City, Ashley is living the dream. Or at least she thinks she is until a dinner with her boyfriend of three years goes horribly wrong. Instead of the proposal she's expecting, Ashley is hit with the hard truth that her boyfriend never wants to get married. With marriage off the table, Ashley breaks up with her boyfriend and trades her fancy trip to Paris in to spend the holidays with her parents in the town she left behind all those years ago.
On the train ride home, Ashley meets a lovely older woman named Betty who gifts her Christmas bracelet to Ashley in the hopes that Ashley will have the Christmas of her dreams. But strange things start happening to Ashley after she puts on the bracelet. First she discovers her parent's lakehouse is decorating exactly like a charm on the bracelet. Next she discovers an adorably devoted dog who looks exactly like another charm on the bracelet waiting for her on the doorstep. As Ashley begins to dip her toes into small town life again, she finds herself faced with a whirlwind of emotions every time she runs into her high school sweethearts. If Ashley opens herself up to the magic of Christmas, she just might get the HEA she longed for and discover what it's truly like to live the dream.
I didn't want to put Christmas Charms down! Teri Wilson's writing completely draws the reader in and makes them feel as if they're wrapped in a cozy blanket while enjoying hot cocoa by the Christmas tree. The first person narrative is so fitting for Ashley's personal journey and I loved watching her grow throughout the novel.
I'm already looking forward to Teri Wilson's next Hallmark novel.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Hallmark Publishing and Teri Wilson for the chance to read this digital ARC.

Christmas Charms follows Ashley, who works at an exclusive NYC jewellery store and plans to celebrate Christmas with her boyfriend in Paris... until they break up the night before their flight, that is. Instead, Ashley decides to head home to Owl Lake for the holidays, for the first time in years. On the train, she meets Betty, a Mrs Claus lookalike who happens to be wearing a vintage charm bracelet. When she wakes up in Owl Lake, that charm bracelet just so happens to be on Ashley's wrist and with every charming coming true in real life, it seems to have magical qualities too. Will Ashley finally get the perfect Christmas she dreamed up when she was six?
This book has all the qualities of a Hallmark movie (coincidentally it's published by Hallmark Publishing) - an idyllic snowy small town, a cute ex and a happy ever after, of course. While I love a cheesy romance or ten, I found I didn't love the writing style in Christmas Charms. It was a bit too repetitive and I wanted more showing than telling. Otherwise, it was a cute festive read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC - all opinions are my own.

Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson is a wonderful new addition to the Hallmark Christmas lineup. It quickly invokes that sense of Hallmark Christmas Magic. The main character, Ashley works at Wilson's Jewelry Store in New York City - a clear stand-in for Tiffany's complete with multiple Audrey Hepburn references and little blue boxes. Following a major romantic disappointment, she heads to her small hometown for Christmas. After spending time with family she realizes she's been chasing all the wrong dreams and true happiness may lie elsewhere a familiar trope. That being said this book really pulls it off. The Christmas magic is cute and Ashley is completely relatable. Her journey of self-discovery is sincere and I liked that she was rediscovering her dreams instead of abandoning them for a guy. The town, Owl Lake, is well drawn out and the romantic lead is endearing. I actually enjoyed the Christmas homecoming parts more than the romantic parts of the book. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to get in the Christmas spirit with this modern Christmas romance. Thanks to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for an advanced copy to review.
Christmas Charms by Terri Wilson captured the true essence of Christmas in the best way possible. It was such a charming and cozy book, and had the perfect touch of magic too! Small-town romances are my jam (DUH) and this book in particular reminded me why I love books surrounding small town and communities so much. I loved being in Owl Lake and seeing our protagonist, Ashley find herself and fall in love with her life all over again.
Ashley is unexpectedly given a charm bracelet, and she gradually realizes that it has magical powers. The charms in the bracelet keep coming true in real life! I had such a lovely time seeing how the story unfolded according to the charms! I couldn’t wait to see what event each charm would bring. It added a bit of a mystery to the book, which I loved.
Ashley’s character development was definitely the highlight of the book for me. Her relationship with Aidan was totally swoon-worthy and I loved being a part of their moments together. The cute dog, Fruitcake made reading the book so much better too!
I really want Christmas Charms to be developed into a Hallmark movie. Highly recommend!
