"He is already part of you. Though you fly to Greece, and never see him again, or forget his very name, George will work in your thoughts till you die. It isn't possible to love and to part. You will wish that it was. You can transmute love, ignore it, muddle it, but you can never pull it out of you."

This is an absolutely lovely book and a classic for a reason. It is a nineteenth century love story, but it's told in such an innovative way with perspectives twirling from one to the other that it feels as if it was written yesterday.

[1908] notes to self…really liked the characters, the story, the writing, the setting. Not wild about the ending but still, this is one for the reread list.
